Reasons I Love Boxing (Art Edition):  George Bellows’ 1924 painting above focuses on the 1923 match up between Jack Dempsey and Luis Firpo. The painting depicts the first round of the Dempsey - who was champion at the time - being slugged out of the ring at the end of the first round. Remarkably, Dempsey would get up and back in the ring (albeit with maybe a long count) and KNOCK OUT Firpo in the second round. God damn do I love boxing.  Also I love the colors of this painting.
