WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Do you know how many things this will fuck up? Do you know how insane this is?

SO. MUCH. SHIT. is in the public doman and therefore anybody can use it or say, record a version of it. Lots of organizations rely on the performance of public domain works.

From the article:

The top court was ruling on a petition by a group of orchestra conductors, educators, performers, publishers and film archivists who urged the justices to reverse an appellate court that ruled against the group, which has relied on artistic works in the public domain for their livelihoods.

This is batshit. And is more of the same money-grubbing that’s fucking up the entertainment industry.
