With a week in the books, thanks to your generosity, we have accumulated over TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS! That’s a lot of money, sure… but we’re only 2/15ths of the way there.
WE HAVE A NEW PERK! If you tag another $5 onto your donation, we’ll send you the YETI 1 Song Pack! All of your favorite songs from the first film can be yours at last in hi quality MP3 format!
Now a true story…
The other day a friend asked me: “Why do you need 15K to make a movie? Didn’t you make the last one for like… $200?” And I realized I should explain. 10 years ago we were in college and when we shot YETI: A LOVE STORY (its original title) we did it on no budget, when people were free, without locations (we just used peoples’ houses, yards, woods, and Emerson College after hours). We were run and gun to the extreme… let’s face it. We were 21 and didn’t know what we were doing. Now, after writing for TV shows, directing movies and producing TONS of TV and Films, Eric, Adam and I know what we’re doing. And while 15K is a lot of money, it’s not a lot to make a movie. We’re going to use everything we’ve learned to make a good movie, while keeping the budget down because - we’re still poor film-students to a certain extent. But shooting a movie now requires a lot more planning. The script alone just has too many locations, set pieces, action, horror and people to do it for any cheaper. The long and the short of it is, we can’t make the movie that we love for any less than 15K. That’s our bare bones production barely losing money budget. But it’s worth it for us because we love this script and we believe in each other… and I guarantee that you’re going to like what we produce. It’s too funny and weird and satisfying not to.
In the plea video we may have come off as a little silly… but that’s not to say that we don’t take this movie 100% seriously. It truly is a story that we want to tell. A riveting tale of love, loss, betrayal, kidnapping, lust, murder, action and some epic SCI-FI twists. Phoenix Askani said it best in the video, and she was dead right, to paraphrase: “Yeti 2 will have all the things that I like in a movie.”
That’s why we’re doing this. To make a film that is 100% satisfying and 100% auteur driven.
Thank you again for donating and please spread the word and share.
A million hugs and a thousand hi-fives and sincere appreciation from the bottom of my heart,
