Hank Williams Jr, probably hammered, talks politics on Fox News, compares Obama to Hitler and gets booted from Monday Night Football by ESPN.

i don’t even know what sports ARE but my hometown pride is remarkable.

I don’t like the Patriots, but I love every other portion of this.

Well, it looks like the Kenny Powers of the NFL, Jeff George, just won’t give up on a comeback. Here’s the scoop from profootballtalk.com via Sam Farmer:

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times reports via Twitter that Jeff George said he could pick up the Colts offense “in a matter of days.”

This is awesome. Do I think Jeff George can still play? Fuck no. But how can you not get excited about a Jeff George comeback after watching this: /span>
I rest my case.

The sad thing is - I believe, looking at the Colts’ offense - that he’s right.

Aceves came over and signed my hat. While we were talking I told him the Yankees were crazy for letting him go, he cracked up and said “right?” with a huge smile. It was awesome.

I love this.  I love the Sox too.

Get Well Soon Peyton!

He is one of my favorite people in the NFL.  I hope he recovers soon.  That said, I don’t like his brother, Eli. Cooper’s okay though.

There is plenty of discouraging news going around the NFL today, as more than 800 players were cut, placed on Injured Reserve(out for the year), or put on the PUP list(must miss a minimum of 6 games). That’s the bad news.
The good news? The inspirational story of New York Giants rookie, Mark Herzlich.
The 24 year old rookie linebacker was an All-American & the Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. He was a top 50 NFL prospect & potential 1st round pick. Despite a bright looking future, he decided to come back for another season of college ball, Then, in the Spring of ‘09, tragedy struck. Herzlich was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewing’s sarcoma. He then battled through the treatments & returned to play last year.
Despite his illness, it was thought that Herzlich would still get selected in the ‘11 NFL Draft. It didn’t happen. Then, because of the offseason lockout, he remained without a team for months. Finally the NFL returned, the Giants signed him, giving him a shot to make the club in Training Camp.
The N.Y. Giants finalized their 53-man roster, today, with Mark Herzlich a member of it. He beat yet another challenge put before him in life. Of course he did. That’s what he does.

Awesome.

What if Michael Vick was white bread?

Would he still have been toast when he was caught doing all those dog things?

This was my favorite “What if Michael Vick were white?” reaction from yesterday. No idea whom to credit for the image.

I think you should credit “D’arcy Hyde” who did the illustration for ESPN the magazine.  READ THE FUCKING PHOTO CAPTION!

This is what it looks like when only 347 fans show up at a baseball stadium made to hold 38,560.
Go Marlins!

It’s fun to think about how the Marlins have 2 World Series Rings in the past twenty years.  You know who else has 2 World Series Rings in the past 15 years?
The Red Sox (2)The Yankees (5)
No other team has 2 in the past 15 years. Weird, right?
